St Charles Borromeo, the oldest post-reformation church in Hull, is currently completing the first phase of a major restoration. The church has published a booklet about its history and is offering guided tours to groups. Work will continue on a second phase, restoring the elaborate baroque decorations added to the interior in the 1890s.

The Roman Catholic Church of St Charles Borremeo was designed by John Earle junior and built 1828-9, with substantial enlargements in 1835. The classical interior was greatly enriched by an overlay of baroque style decoration in the 1890s. The church was listed Grade I in 2015 and has undergone extensive restoration.
