No Rain at Raby!

Raby Castle

Raby Castle

Friday, 20th July 2012

The weather remained fine for yesterdays trip to Raby. The gardens were colourful despite the recent bad weather and the deer were grazing close to the castle. We were given a brief introductory talk by a member of staff. The castle is mediaeval with substantial alterations by John Carr and William Burn in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Our next trip, to Lyme Park, is in three weeks time.
