Our trip to Temple Newsam went well, starting with a n interesting introductory lecture by the houses curator Dr Rachel Conroy.

The house will be five hundred years old in 2020, and contains elements of the styles of most of the intervening centuries. The Elizabethan style, and Victorian reproductions of it, tend to predominate, but there are also a number of very fine rooms created by Henry Ingram, the 7th Viscount Irwin, in the mid eighteenth century.
