Kingston upon Hull
Thursday, 13th October 2011
The society's last visit of the year was a walking tour of Hull lead by David Neave. We started in Holy Trinity where we examined the Georgian monuments, and the one to the society's founder, Rupert Alec-Smith. After admiring Prince Street, we crossed Lowgate to look at three old merchant's houses, Crowle House, Maister House and Blaydes House. The tour finished at St Mary's Lowgate where wood work from the Georgian pulpit has been reused to panel the vestry.
