There is more to Hedon than you can do in one day!

St Augustine's Church, Hedon.

Last Thursday was chilly but bright for our guided tout of Hedon. This was conducted by historian Martin Craven who started his tour in the centre of the old town before moving on to St Augustine's Church, popularly known as "The King of Holderness". After lunch we were shown the court room of the Town Hall. The building dates from 1693 and was given to the town by Henry Guy MP, who was Groom of the Bedchamber to King Charles II. Tea and Coffee were served in the local museum. It was decided that a return visit to pick up a number of venues in the town which had been missed due to lack of time was in order.
